TIME TO WAKE UP (Bergey) Chorus: Time to wake up little girl Time to greet the brand-new day Time to wake up little girl Because bed is no place to stay There’s so many things you want to do So many things you haven’t tried I know you’re looking forward to school I can’t always be by your side Through a world of candy canes Snow catching on window panes To balance teeter-totter The wonder of a daughter Skipping away down learning lanes Time to wake up little girl Time to put on your new dress Time to wake up little girl For mommy we must look our best There’s so many things you want to do So many things you haven’t tried I know you’re looking forward to school Until then let me be your guide Through a maze of make-believe Winding down school steps I weave I’m not sure I can let you go I want to know what you know Tell me when it’s time to leave
2.
SWEETEST GIRL (Bergey) What if the world doesn’t want to be the world today? And the sky doesn’t want to drop down to say hey Maybe the trees don’t want to reach out towards the sun Rivers and streams find very little reason to run Chorus: But don’t tell me there’ll be a day When little girls refuse to be sweet My little girl she has a way She’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet What if a mountain refused to stand up straight? And a sun that didn’t mind being a little late An ocean that would rather curl up and take a nap And a dream only big enough to fit in your lap Chorus
3.
Wise Owl 01:48
WISE OWL (Bergey) If you’ve got problems at home Call me on the phone I’ll be right on the way Without a delay I will If you’ve got thoughts in your head You wish you were dead Don’t hesitate to call Be right on the ball I will Ask this Wise Owl I’ll fly to the ground I’ll turn around Ask this Wise Owl If you’ve got questions in mind You know all the time Well I’ve got news for you It’s that we all do I know If you’ve got something to say Can’t wait another day I’m always here to talk Or just take a walk Let’s go
4.
Purple Pants 02:10
PURPLE PANTS (Bergey) Here comes Miss Purple Pants Getting ready for the dance Here comes Miss Blue Eyes Looking up into the sky And what do you think she sees Green worm grass and lollipop trees Soft inviting hills to stand Rolling over to Dizzy Land Here comes Mister White Shirt Getting ready for his work Before he starts his car He looks at his shining star And what do you think he sees A calling out pile of leaves A few more minutes can’t hurt And he can always change his shirt Here comes Miss Purple Pants She is ready for the dance Before she has to go She trips over a rainbow And what do you think she sees Pretty ticos on her sleeves And with every dance she tries She is with her favorite guy
5.
INFINITY PLUS ONE (Bergey) When I was Just a kid I stretched the truth A million Times I lied About my youth Once steadies Now strangers We never strayed Remember A stupid Game that we played? Chorus: I'd say I would love you Every day there's sun You'd say "Infinity" I'd say "Infinity plus one" My mom said I should not Exaggerate My dad said All good things Come if you wait And then you Showed me that You are the one No more games Won’t keep track We both have won
6.
MELVIN THE BEAR (Bergey) It's Melvin the bear He doesn't much care Front and center in your bed He's furry and fluffy So cute and puffy Always dancing in your head In one of two poses Eyes never closes Looking out for stray pillows It's Melvin the bear He doesn't much care Front and center in your bed He’s stuffed with soft cotton All others forgotten Prizes won when dad played And when he’s so reclined Always so inclined Reflecting on his day
7.
MR. RAINBOW (Bergey) Mr. Rainbow Why don’t you show your colors? You’re hangin’ out with others Your faded twin Mrs. Downpour You’ve got some leaves to gather Spillin’ out if they’d rather Can’t keep them in You’ve got a wonderview You’ve got a wonderview That’s the wonder of you Daddy Dewdrop You do more before daybreak Bare-footin’ on grass to wake Your sunny friend Mother Sprinkle Your afternoon surprises Clouds forming in small sizes A perfect end You’ve got a wonderview You’ve got a wonderview That’s the wonder of you Mr. Rainbow You’re surfing on a sunbeam Pointing to something unseen A golden day
8.

YOU’VE GOT TO BE YOU (Bergey) Your parents want you to be a doctor But you don’t want to be You want to be an actor They tell you what that’s worth They put you through the whole college routine For what seems twenty years You find that you don’t like it But now it’s way too late Chorus: Be what you want to be Do what you want to do It’s hard for you to see That you’ve got to be you Now you find yourself in your own practice Watch TV when you can Want to act in the movies Run away from it all Your parents want to see you as a nurse But you don’t want to be You want to be an actress They tell you what that’s worth Chorus: Be what you want to be Do what you want to do It’s hard for you to see That you’ve got to be you Now you find yourself with a doctor who Watches TV all day Both want to be movie stars Runaway together
11.
LIFE WILL GO ON (Bergey) You’re making a D in history You’re making an F, yeh, right and left Don’t be a fool There’s a reason for school You’re telling a lie, no reason why To your best friend, it’s not the end Don’t be afraid You’re just lucky she stayed Chorus: And life – will go on And life – will go on Didn’t bring your lunch, I have a hunch They’ll let you slide, forget your pride Just be funny There’s no matter in money You’re late for the bus, no need to cuss They’ll save you a seat, next to the heat So stay behind There’s no matter in time Chorus: And life – will go on And life – will go on
12.
FREDRIKA IS LOOSE AGAIN (Bergey) Fredrika is loose again Fredrika is loose again Thought they had her locked up for good Fredrika is loose again She’s climbing her cage in the zoo Because there’s nothing much to do Never let her miss a meal Got her swinging on a wheel Someone left the gate unlatched With her sharp eyes she is unmatched Soon she finds public transport To her this is not a sport Fredrika is loose again Fredrika is loose again Thought they had her locked up for good Fredrika is loose again Can’t read the language on the sign Got more than bananas on her mind Makes her way to the countryside So many places for her to hide This time they may never find her She’s very clever that’s for sure Easily outsmarted them all She answered mother nature’s call Fredrika is loose again Fredrika is loose again Thought they had her locked up for good Fredrika is loose again And, by the way . . . Where’s Wallace?

She's Sweet 02:47
SHE’S SWEET (Bergey) Because she’s sweet that is why I call her my sweet little pumpkin pie Because she’s sweet that is how I call her my sweet little chocolate cow Because she’s sweet that is what I call her my sweet little pink donut Because she’s sweet that is when I call her my sweet little gum garden Because she’s sweet that is where I call her my sweet little Polly Pear Because she’s sweet that is who I call her my sweet little Skip-To-My-Lou
14.
GREEN METAL TURTLE (Bergey) The green metal turtle Is gripping the sand Not close to the ocean But not on firm land The green metal turtle Much cooler at night It can offer some shade It will never bite The green metal turtle Hiding from the sun Kicking off our flip-flops Watch us really run The green metal turtle Kids climbing under Some of us are pirates With pail we plunder The green metal turtle Must apply lotion The fish are not biting Don’t fear the ocean The green metal turtle Good place for hiding Next summer we’ll forget We’re surfboard riding
15.
PRETTY LITTLE EYES (Bergey) Time to close your pretty little eyes No good reason to put up a fight And I’ve already kissed you good night Time to close your pretty little eyes Time to close your pretty little eyes That was a good book I must admit And I like how you read most of it Time to close your pretty little eyes Well before dawn I saw your light on You’re worried about your visit Packed your own bag I know it’s a drag But we really shouldn’t miss it Time to close your pretty little eyes Let your blankets cover your disguise Bed before midnight that would be wise Time to close your pretty little eyes Every trip we make Know how long it takes A long and winding road ahead The stories you tell They rest with me well Remember everything you said Time to close your pretty little eyes If there’s pain, I’ll try it on for size In this life you are daddy’s prize Time to close your pretty little eyes

about

Being a songwriter of sorts, I used to make up little ditties to entertain my little three-year-old cutie. The only difference is that I wrote them down and then, twenty-five years later, tried my hand at recording them! The songs are still have that Andy “bubblegum-newwavy” sound boys and girls of all ages might adore so feel free to have a tea party and play this album with your little cutie!
Thanks to the bestest daughter ever, Rachel. You love big, but I love you the biggest! Chicken tonight!

about

Andrew Bergey Denver, Colorado

After fronting the Oklahoma alt-rockers Rank Amateurs, Andrew Bergey moved to Colorado and started releasing solo albums in 2011. His clever, quirky, and surreal songs have forged “standard” rock albums, a bubblegum album, a children’s album, a premature anthology, and a cover album of his own songs! Why not? Andrew’s albums are always unexpected, experimental, and ear-wormingly entertaining! ... more
