SWIMMING IN BLUE STREETS (Andrew Bergey) When the sun ain't shining And the rain is pouring down If you want to find me Well, you know where I'll be found When the clouds are hanging And the rain is pouring down And come Sunday morning Well, you know where I'll be found Chorus: Swimming in blue streets Keeping a line on the day Swimming in blue streets The night will wash me away Drop the beat of the day Once the rain's rhythm is found The leaves in the gutter Well, they are now in my sound When the weather's hanging Can't seem to make up its mind It's all right to follow Don't attempt to throw a line (Chorus) When the leaves are falling From the weight of the rain Although I do get sleepy I'm not about to complain When the sun ain't shining And the rain is pouring down If you want to find me Well, you know where I'll be found (Chorus) © 1993 Viable Tangents Music Produced by Andy & Hal Fitzgerald Andy/Hal Fitzgerald: Drum/Bass Programming Andy: Keyboards Hal: Computer Recorded 1993 Jam Lab

NOT LOVERS YET (Andrew Bergey) Well, yes I know what the play said That they were joined when they were dead But it didn't say about afterlife If they became man and wife Shakespeare would have had another hit If he had answered this in a play Chorus: Well, you can bet a little bet That Romeo and Juliet are not lovers yet Well, yes I know what the play means When it is time to end the scenes I absorb it all -- I sit on my coat But I miss the happy note Shakespeare would have had another hit If he had added this in a play (Chorus) Well, yes I know that life's not fair Lovers get lost and no one cares But this here play before my eyes Says that in love, love never tries Shakespeare would have had another hit If he had addressed this in a play (Chorus) Are not lovers yet . . . © 1993 Viable Tangents Music Produced by Andy & Hal Fitzgerald Andy/Hal Fitzgerald: Drum/Bass Programming Andy: Keyboards Hal: Computer Recorded 1993 Jam Lab (Norman, OK) Additional keyboards recorded 2018

PLASTIC WOMAN (Andrew Bergey) Rot gut breath Blood-shot eyes And those new Plastic dyes On you Chorus: Plastic woman Synthetic lady Nylon girl Well she's my baby Oh, yeh Painted brows Sparklin' nose And a bust That just grows On you War paint face Candied lips And my those Padded hips On you (Chorus) Sweet arm pits Shaved legs too Fake dimples You got two On you Heeled shoes Low cut dress You sure have A true mess On you Rot gut breath Blood-shot eyes And those new Plastic dyes On you (Chorus) Spoken: It takes you two hours to get ready to do anything. I don't know why you bother. You don't look any better and I've already gone. I know everyone can't be born beautiful, so what's wrong with blending in with the crowd. There's a lot to be said for the natural look. I hear it's coming back. Maybe you can be a trendsetter. Put down that drink, wash your face, I'll be waiting in the car. © 1987 Viable Tangents Music Recorded 1987 Andy’s Room

about

Anthologies are supposed to be released after an artist’s recording career is well over but here at Viable Tangents Music we feel that Andrew Bergey deserves a collection of rarities sooner than later because, to be honest, we don’t know when his recording career will end although we’ve asked him many times.
We’ve unearthed (hence the cover) a collection of Rank Amateur demos, half-chewed bubblegum ditties, soundtracks to forgotten TV shows, a quick three-song dip in a real recording studio and other songs we can’t explain spanning 1987-2017. Andy says some of his favorite songs are on this album. We don’t recall which songs, but he did promise to never rap again.

about

Andrew Bergey Denver, Colorado

After fronting the Oklahoma alt-rockers Rank Amateurs, Andrew Bergey moved to Colorado and started releasing solo albums in 2011. His clever, quirky, and surreal songs have forged “standard” rock albums, a bubblegum album, a children’s album, a premature anthology, and a cover album of his own songs! Why not? Andrew’s albums are always unexpected, experimental, and ear-wormingly entertaining! ... more
